Resolved Question: Natural ways to make hair shiny and silky?

My natural hair is curly, kind of like Keri Russell's, therefore it really doesn't have that much moisture. I wash my hair every other day. Whenever I straighten it, it kind of has a rough feel to it, and it doesn't look silky and shiny (also, to mention, I use pantene "smooth" almost every time I wash my hair).
